Wabi-sabi High Back Lounge Chair In OakThis highback lounge chair was produced in the sixties and fluctuates a bit between the brutalism and wabi sabi style. The imperfections in terms of proportions form a common thread within this design and ensure that this chair stands out in any interior.A warm patina has taken hold of the robust oak wood and brings out the structure of the wood in a refined way. So what makes the asymmetrical proportions so special? Let's start with the front legs. They are rectangular and tapered and slightly higher than the back legs. These are much closer together compared to the front legs and therefore visually create more friction.The seat is relatively large and, as it were, shoots past the backrest uprights. The seat itself is shaped to the human body and the armrests are attached to the backrest by means of a mortise and tenon connection and are clearly an unmistakable detail. The upper part of the of the backrest is slightly curved, again creating a visual contrast to the rest of the chair.The condition is good with of course the usual scratches and dents that do not detract but add charm to this striking item."
